Terrible customer service
Everything is either a robot or a person who can’t help you if you have a problem. Had a bad review based on an Airbnb “tip” that they were pushing. They refused to take the review down. The review also included a quote from me that I never said, which is defamation. They still wouldn’t take it down. When I talked to a supervisor they just read a statement over and over as if they too were a robot.

Aircover is FRAUD
the new fee structure is hurting hosts and misleading guests I was using only Airbnb for my 6 properties until the fee structure changed and I tried to use aircover when I really needed it busy season. I would urge hosts to make sure and use all other channels available to them and BE AWARE THAT AIRCOVER OFFERS NO PROTECTION.
I had a property rented back to back for three months with all perfect reviews, then a woman stayed with kids and broke the 3 year old sofa bed and I turned it into aircover and it was denied then I appealed and again they said denied unless I had pictures of the sofa just before their check in. I had even made the bed and the guest acknowledged it was working for the first night of their stay!

Genocide supporting disgrace
Airbnb is a disgrace to humanity. Their complicity in the world’s genocides and its support of modern day colonialism is disgusting. DO NOT USE! Negotiate directly with owners and pay offline.

Update required-use other services besides Airbnb.
Airbnb is now in cahoots with apple. They now require you to update your iOS in order to use their app. Airbnb wants you to have a new iPhone or new iOS. How can you manage your listing if you aren’t allowed to use the app. If people have an older iPhone they should be allowed to use an older version of the Airbnb app. I will be moving all my reservations to VRBO.

Proceed with caution
I would like to write air bnb an honest review. If you do a two step payment method, you have an expired card on file. Their only form of contact is email. They didn’t call, text or try to message us through the app. We found out two days later, 5 days before we left for vacation, that our air bnb canceled on us due to final payment not being made. After multiple attempts of trying to get in contact with customer service, I was hung up on even requesting communication from a manager. Their policy states due to cancellation no refund. We not only lost our vacation stay but they are refusing to reimburse $1200 we already paid. “Cancellation” means host or guest canceled, there is no ownership on air bnbs end. They just collected our money with no resolution. After being a valued customer to air bnb, I absolutely refuse to use them moving forward. I have also shared this with friends and family, who are now hesitant to utilize air bnb due to lack of customer resolution.

Deleting my account after 8 years
Airbnb’s platform fails to protect guest safety when hosts breach basic security. I stayed at a listing where the host used a single master keycode across multiple separate units, allowing easy access to wrong/occupied apartments. When I left due to safety concerns and received a very small refund from support, the host posted a retaliatory review full of false claims. Airbnb allows host retaliation to stay live on guest profiles even after support validates the safety violation. They made no action on this host although I was told they would. Guests have zero protection against hostile host and unsafe lock setups or retaliatory hosts. This host broke many terms of service with spamming me before the stay with hidden fees for ammenities and self promotion for different off app long term rentals and trying to convince me to use their off app platform.

Used to be good
Terrible experience lately - in particular with customer service. Besides the usual death spiral of AI chat bots that don’t provide any help - a memorable anecdote was customer service demanding I take photos and videos of mosquitoes in an Airbnb. The customer service agent kept doubling down and claiming I should like get a microscope out and send him proof. Which was hilarious because I happen to work on mosquito borne diseases for work and know how hard it is to document mosquitoes. 0/5 stars - just get a hotel instead of using this sad platform

Refunds terrible
we had a terrible experience where the host failed to communicate and downgraded our room. Refund terms are terrible. They take more than 2 weeks to process. If canceling booking in the middle of the stay due to host’s fault, yoh will not get a full refund or even a fair refund. Our booking was a total of $2720 and we tried cancelling on second day due to host’s negligence, and AirBnB will only refund $2164 for the remaining 7 nights and $80 for the first night. Do the math, so far from the $2720 total. I will never do AirBnB ever again

Superhost Doesn’t Appreciate Super Fees
I’ve been a Superhost for 10 years, and my property ranks among the top 5% of eligible listings. I take tremendous pride in maintaining it, providing an excellent experience and accommodating guests’ requests whenever possible. I’ve generally been happy with Airbnb and, if not for its recent pricing changes, I would have given the app another star.
Airbnb loses one star for failing to meaningfully reward longevity and consistently excellent hosting. Despite my strong record and hundreds of positive reviews, I’ve watched my listing’s visibility and traffic decline significantly over the years. Predictably, my bookings have declined along with them.
Airbnb loses a second star for restructuring its fees so that hosts now bear the overwhelming majority of the service cost. Airbnb’s solution is to recommend that I raise my nightly rates so I don’t lose income. In other words, Airbnb collects a substantially larger percentage from hosts, then tells us to inflate our prices to compensate.
That puts experienced hosts in an unfair position: absorb a significant pay cut or charge guests more and risk becoming less competitive. Either way, Airbnb gets its fee while hosts carry the financial burden and guests see higher prices.
After 10 years of helping Airbnb build its business, I don’t feel rewarded for being a loyal, high-performing host. I feel squeezed by a company that increasingly takes more while offering hosts less visibility, less value and fewer reasons to remain loyal.

Monopoly is their Business
If you rent an airbnb unit and it comes dirty or it is provided to you in a way that is not matching how it is listed, you literally can’t do anything once you pay. They would only let the host decide if they gonna give any refund. In my case, I was renting a place which is smaller than posted, provided all dirty untensils and spoiled milk, expired products, we reached out to airbnb with complaints and their response was host is the ultimate decision maker

Automated system canceled my stay, promised a refund, then stole $1,280.
Do not trust this platform with your money.
An automated glitch on their end caused my reservation installment payment to fail, and the system immediately canceled my booking. I was actively using the app during the cure window and never received a push or in-app notification about the payment failure—only a buried email.
To make matters worse, when I reached out to customer support, their app interface explicitly told me in writing that I was entitled to a full refund. Relying on their own system's confirmation, I reached out to the host directly to fix the issue and offered to pay the remaining balance in full immediately so they wouldn't lose a single cent. The host refused to rebook.
When I followed up with Airbnb to get my money back, support admitted in writing that their AI assistant made a mistake and that their system isn't always accurate. Instead of taking accountability for their platform's false written promises and technical notification failures, a "Senior Manager" hid behind the host's cancellation policy and refused to refund my $1,287.30.
They literally took over twelve hundred dollars for a service that was never delivered, admitted their own software misled me, and then closed my support ticket.
The customer service is non-existent when real technical issues happen, and their AI will lie to you in writing without the company taking responsibility for it. Save yourself the headache and book through hotel platforms that actually respect consumer protection laws.

Account got banned
Customer service is horrible, there rarely anyone to contact. My account has recently been removed without proper detail on informing what was the reason. I rarely travel or book Airbnbs. Most of the reviews from my past hosts have been good and I have spoken to them and they have informed me everything is well so I don’t know the reason why Airbnb decided to suspend/remove my account.

Zero help. Change terms after booking
Airbnb is a dumpster fire. They don’t help customers at all.
I booked a property with a non-refundable reservation. However, two days later, the host messaged me and said I needed to pay an additional $185 cleaning fee, even though this fee was nowhere disclosed on Airbnb — not in the listing, the description, or anywhere else during the booking process.
The host simply decided to change the terms after I had already booked the property.
Naturally, I canceled the reservation and contacted Airbnb support. Their response was that, according to Airbnb’s policy, if you cancel more than 24 hours after booking, you are not entitled to a refund.
This makes no sense because the booking conditions were changed after I made the reservation. On top of that, I canceled two weeks before check-in, giving plenty of notice.
I will never use Airbnb again

Overcharge - Zero Support
AirBnB charges outrageous fees, provides zero actual support, and makes life really difficult. Any time a guest has a problem, AirBnB is quick to screw the host - even super hosts. And any time we try to refund a guest, AirBnB keeps the fees and doesn’t reimburse the guest. Maddening.

Do not use this app! Use the top two for better service. They allow hidden fees when they say “no hidden fees” and then when you call there is so much noise in the background and are no help whatsoever. My next two vacation planning will never be with them. I’m going to make sure that all of my fellow influencers know to make better choices. And the worst part is that my vacation is in 11 days and my flight and excursions are already paid for. NEVER AGAIN!!
